A Mother’s Wish Foundation will be closing its day-to-day operations.

Greetings to our AMW Community,

After 16 extraordinary years, we share with both sadness and gratitude that A Mother’s Wish Foundation will be closing its day-to-day operations. Over these years, we have poured our hearts into this mission, growing, giving, and building something truly special together.

Though this chapter is coming to a close, the spirit of A Mother’s Wish will live on through the endowments we have established. These lasting legacies will ensure that our mission continues to touch lives and inspire progress for generations to come.

We are deeply grateful for your support, dedication, and belief in our vision. Together, we have created something enduring, an impact that will continue far beyond our daily work.

With heartfelt thanks,
A Mother’s Wish Foundation

P.S. For those who attended our Fabulous Casino Night 2025, the meal and drink value for tax purposes is $100 per ticket.

You can continue to support our mission by giving directly to our two endowments — gifts that will keep making an impact year after year:

Employee Match Programs

Make the most out of your employer’s match program.

At Charity Navigator, we believe that every donation–regardless of size–has the power to make a difference. The charities we evaluate would likely agree. But what if there was a way to make your donation go further? Employee match programs may be your answer.

What Are Employee Match Programs?

Employee match programs are a benefit that companies offer to encourage and reward giving among their staff. Think of this as free money you are empowered to employ on behalf of your community and the world. Most companies will match an employee’s gift to a charity one-to-one, but others match gifts two-to-one, and some even match donations three-to-one! This means that your gift to a charity can be worth two to four times as much as you donate.

Not sure if your employer or a potential employer offers a charitable match? Utilize the search tool below and find out!

See if your employer will match your donation!

Taking Advantage of Your Employee Match

Employee match programs require a small amount of effort to engage, but the work will pay off for the nonprofits you choose to support. Here is how you can make the most of your employee match program.

    ● Step one: Learn the rules. Some companies have a preferred list of charities they partner with, while others match gifts to any charity an employee may support. The match likely has an annual limit. If you don’t know how your company’s match program works, contact your Human Resources department today! Don’t forget to ask if they allow employees to volunteer their time with local charities. Some companies offer paid time off to staff when they volunteer with an organization in their community.

    ● Step two: Make your donation. Within the guidelines your company provides, select a charity. Search Charity Navigator to find or vet charitable organizations. Be sure to keep proof of your gift or volunteer time, which may require providing contact information for a receipt.

    ● Step three: Dot the i’s and cross the t’s. Typically, companies only need a receipt as proof of contribution and a single form requesting that they match the donation. Provide these (and any other required materials) promptly to the appropriate personnel at your company, likely the Human Resources department or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team. Confirm that the match was made.

Don’t leave money for social good on the table! Take advantage of your employee match program this year and every year.

A Mother’s Wish supports The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Stem Cell Research Team

A Mother’s Wish partnered with CHOP’s Doctors to increase their stem cell research programs in hopes that perhaps one day that could be used to cure this disease.

We decided the best option is with Dr. Kathryn Hamilton and her team at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She understands how epithelial stem cells from patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) behave differently than stem cells from patients without IBD. If they understand these disease specific differences in stem cells, they can develop new therapies that can support restoration of damaged intestinal tissue which will help future IBD patients.

Together, we are hopeful that one day make life a little easier for all these people affected by the disease. CHOP invited AMW to tour the KOP facility and a visit into the operating room.

Thank you for all your support!

 Sincerely,

 A Mother’s Wish

A Mother’s Wish Sends Kids With Crohn’s Disease & Ulcerative Colitis to Camp!

A Mother’s Wish is so proud of the work we have done so that sick kids with IBD can still enjoy a week of camp (like a normal kid) but with Doctors all over the campus to assist them as needed.

We covered the attendance for over 100 kids to take advantage of our endowment to the camps. Your donations not only help with important research but also sends kids to a camp that they would not be able to enjoy.

Camp Oasis’s Mission :To cure Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.

Thank you for your much needed support which allows us to continue to offer these vital programs!

Sincerely,

A Mother’s Wish

Thomas Jefferson University Endowment Update

This is an update from Diana Elbanna,  Director of Development, Medicine/Surgery from Jefferson University Hospital, on the ultrasound training device that targets the digestive system.

We recently connected with Dr. Kozuch and she shared with us updates about the training that your generous gift is supporting. She has completed the first of three modules, and is in the middle of

the hands-on module 2 training which requires travel to different sites to receive one-on-one training with an expert. She went to University of Chicago in August, and is currently in the midst of planning time at Dartmouth this winter. She anticipates that she will be done with module 2 in April, and module 3 will be completed later in the spring.

We are confirming which physician will be trained next, and identifying a module 1 to be attended, likely in the second half of 2025.

Thank you again for your support – this training and technology will go a long way in improving the lives of those impacted by diseases like Crohn’s and Colitis.

We are so grateful for you, and the rest of the A Mother’s Wish team. Enjoy this last part of the year (how quickly it came!), and looking forward to continuing our good work together in 2025.

Gratefully,

Diana
