Hi, I have decided to get involved with an organization called A Mother’s Wish.  It is a local foundation that raises funds to help support people and families effected by Crohn’s and Colitis.

I am pretty sure that all of you know Paige was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in June, 2014 so this is very near and dear to my heart!

We did a fundraiser on December 6, 2014 at:

Aim High Studio
3015 West Germantown Pike
Fairview Village, PA, 19403

What a great turnout for a great cause! We raised $800.00!

I want to thank all of you who attended and thank you again for your continued support – it truly means the world to me!

2014 Event Press Release

MEDIA, PA–When Laura Weiner turned fifty, her only wish was that her son Thomas would be healthy enough to someday celebrate his fiftieth birthday milestone. Laura’s friends took her words to heart, and out of that desire founded A Mother’s Wish in order to raise money to find a cure for Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis – both of which have robbed Thomas and hundreds of thousands of others of any kind of quality of life.

On October 29, 2014, A Mother’s Wish will hold its annual fundraiser, “A Night At The Casino”, at the Meadowlands Country Club located at 711 Boehms Church Rd, Blue Bell, PA from 6pm until 10pm.

A Mother’s Wish is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, supporting the search for a cure to Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis,

Crohn’s Disease is an inflammatory condition that affects the digestive tract – including the mouth, esophagus, stomach, anus, small and large intestine. It can affect any portion of the digestive tract. The disease is characterized by active periods, known as flare-ups, followed by periods of remission, during which symptoms diminish or disappear altogether.

Its cause is not known. Crohn’s Disease may cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever. Loss of appetite and weight loss also may accompany the disease. An individual’s symptoms may range from mild to severe. More than half of all people who live with Crohn’s Disease will need to have surgery at some point to treat the disease.

A Mother’s Wish was founded due to the need to help those suffering from this disease on the front line. More than 1.4 million Americans suffer from Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative colitis, of which more than 150,000 are under the age of 18. Funds raised by A Mother’s Wish support research, patient education, advocacy and public awareness. A Mother’s Wish Launches New Website

A Mother’s Wish is proud to announce the launch of our brand new website. While still a work in progress, our new site aims to highlight our upcoming fundraisers and events, our dedicated team, and provide information about what is happening in the fight against Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Our new and improved site aims to make it easy to join our fight by enabling visitors to purchase tickets to our events and make tax-deductible donations right on the site. And the timing couldn’t be better with our A Night at the Casino event coming up on October 29th.

The Gift of A Mother’s Wish

“With much thought and consideration, we have chosen a special way to say thank you for sharing our wedding day with us. In lieu of a traditional wedding favor, we have made a donation to A Mother’s Wish. We feel the finest gift is one which helps others live longer and healthier lives.”
All Our Love, Mary Frances & Brian
